I grew up a few miles from Spring Villa and remember it as a place of wonder.
I spent the night at the house (not sure if the main or back house) probably with Cub Scout Pack 352, maybe Den 3, in about May 1965.
I remember someone put ketchup on the 13th step and told us about the murder, then we heard a noise outside, and someone was dressed as a ghost in a sheet at the outer edge of the lawn.
I also remember going to the Spring Villa pool later in life. And I always thought the house belonged to William Penn.
Now as an adult I want to know the real story of Spring Villa and Penn Yonge.
